Félix Díaz de Escauriaza (Madrid, 1983). I talk too much. When I was little I was always grounded at school ‘cause I wouldn’t keep quiet. My parents would then sit with me and ask me why, and my only answer was: “Well… things come up to my mind and I have to tell them”. Soon I discovered I was able to do it in a much safer way, using pen and paper, and that’s how I started sketching and doodling.
That’s also the reason why I majored in journalism and worked in PR and communications for a long time, while I enjoyed my drawings more as a hobby than anything else. Then, the occasional illustration commissions would become a more regular thing, and suddenly I realized I could make a career out of it. That’s how I became a full-time illustrator. Being able to express myself and what others need with lines, colors and textures is one of the greatest things in the world. I hope you enjoy looking at my illustrations as much as I do making them.
